Assessment
Criterion A- Notate rhythm (in standard notation) by ear. Write pitch on treble and bass clef.
Criterion B- Play or clap rhythms from standard notation. Identify pitch from bass and treble clef. Play simple piano pieces.
Criterion C- Creating rhythms for Self / peer assessment of pitch and rhythm training.
Criterion D- Arts process journal, self and peer assessment.
Pupils will-
Learn to read and write standard notation for pitch and rhythm.
Learn to equate pitch with notes of the keyboard and investigate shortcuts to reading sequences.
Learn treble clef, bass clef, staff and ledger lines and how to use them.
Revise and practice topic using musictheory.net.
Keep an ongoing written evaluation of the learning process (developmental workbook).
