INDIAN MUSIC
Statement of Inquiry: Indian Music is one of the most ancient musical traditions. We will explore the conventions and employ them in a performance of a raga.

By the end of the year students are expected to be able to:
Perform an improvised raga adhering to the traditional structure.
Present personal projects on Indian musicians and instruments.

Investigate the religious, historical and cultural heritage in India and its close relationship with other art forms.
Investigate links with previous topics.
Investigate India's technological rise and how this has changed traditional music (Bollywood, Bhangra and Indian music influence in the UK and the Caribbean. )
